Part 1
Tour Organiser: Good morning, Community Tours, this is Mark speaking. How can I help you?
Jessica: Hi, I'm calling to get some information about the craft village tour I saw advertised.
Tour Organiser: Of course. Are you interested in the trip to Maple Grove or the one to Willow Creek?
Jessica: The second one, please. The Willow Creek tour.
Tour Organiser: Ah yes, Willow Creek. Just so you have the correct spelling for your notes, that's Creek, spelled C-R-E-E-K.
Jessica: C-R-E-E-K. Got it, thanks.
Tour Organiser: An excellent choice. It's one of our most popular tours.
Jessica: Great. Could you tell me what the main handicraft is there?
Tour Organiser: The artisans in Willow Creek are famous for their hand-made pottery. They've been making it for over 200 years, using traditional methods.
Jessica: Pottery, lovely. And where does the tour start from?
Tour Organiser: We meet all our guests at the Central Bus Station. We'll be there from 8:30 a.m. The bus leaves at 9 a.m. sharp.
Jessica: The Central Bus Station. Okay. What about the cost?
Tour Organiser: The standard ticket price is 20, but for students, there's a discount. It's only 15.
Jessica: Fifteen dollars, that's great. And what does that price include? Does it include lunch?
Tour Organiser: I'm afraid lunch is not included, as people like to explore the local cafes. But the price does include a free souvenir – a small, hand-painted bowl from one of the artisans.
Jessica: A free souvenir! That's a nice touch. Thank you for the information.
Part 2
Head Teacher: Good morning, students, and welcome to the new academic year. I'm Mrs. Davis, your head teacher. I'd like to take a few moments to share some thoughts on how you can make this year successful and, most importantly, balanced.
First, your studies. This is, of course, a priority. You will have assignments and deadlines. My best piece of advice here is simple: do not delay. The sooner you complete your homework, the more time you will have for other things, and the less stressed you will feel.
Second, please take care of your health. This means both physical and mental well-being. Getting enough quality rest is crucial. Some of you might need eight hours of sleep, others a bit less, but the quality is what matters. Also, make time for physical activity.
Third, be an active part of our community. You can do this by joining one of our many school clubs, or by simply helping your neighbours and being a good friend. These connections are important.
Finally, I know that sometimes life can be challenging. If you are struggling with anything, please talk to someone. While your parents and I are always here for you, your first point of contact for personal advice should be the school counsellor. He is trained to help you manage any difficulties you might face. I wish you all a wonderful and productive year. Thank you.
