Part 1
Mr. Harris: Hello, Community Events, Mr. Harris speaking.
Chloe: Hello, my name is Chloe. I'm a student at Northwood School and I'm calling about the volunteer event this weekend.
Mr. Harris: Great to hear, Chloe! Are you calling about the Fun Run for charity?
Chloe: Oh, no, I was interested in the event to help the local community.
Mr. Harris: Ah, I see. You mean the Community Helpers Day. We're very excited about that one.
Chloe: Yes, that's it. Could you tell me what the main activity will be?
Mr. Harris: Of course. Last year, we focused on picking up rubbish around the town centre, but this year our main activity is planting trees. We want to make our community greener.
Chloe: Planting trees, that sounds wonderful. And where will the event take place?
Mr. Harris: We'll be working in Greenwood Park. It's the large park just behind the city library.
Chloe: Greenwood Park. Okay. What time should volunteers arrive?
Mr. Harris: Let me just check the schedule... Ah, yes. All volunteers should meet at 10:00 a.m. The 9:45 time you might have seen in an early email was for the team leaders only.
Chloe: 10:00 a.m., got it. And finally, is there anything special we need to wear?
Mr. Harris: We will provide a free T-shirt and bottles of water for everyone. We just ask that you wear a pair of comfortable shoes, as we'll be on our feet for a few hours.
Part 2
Speaker: Good morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Carter, and I'm your school counsellor. I know that as you get older, balancing schoolwork, friends, and hobbies can get more difficult. The more homework you have, the more stressed you might feel. So today, I want to share a few simple tips for a healthier, more balanced life.
Speaker: First, let's talk about time management. Before you even think about making a schedule, the first and most important step is setting priorities. You must decide what is most important and what can wait. This will help you focus your energy effectively.
Speaker: Second is your physical health. If you feel tired all the time, you can't study well. It’s simple: you should eat healthy food and you should get regular exercise. This doesn't mean you have to become a sports star, but even a short walk every day can make a huge difference.
Speaker: Finally, don't forget your mental health. It’s just as important. Make time for your hobbies, whether it's reading, drawing, or playing an instrument. And don't isolate yourself. Hanging out with friends and talking about your feelings is one of the best ways to relieve stress and anxiety.
Speaker: Remember, these are just general tips. If you're feeling overwhelmed and need more specific advice, my door is always open. You can make an appointment to see me through the school office. Thank you.
