Part 1
Alex: Hi Mai! I'm trying to find out what to do this weekend. You mentioned there are some traditional craft villages near here?
Mai: Oh, definitely! You should go to Bat Trang. It’s the most famous one.
Alex: Bat Trang? What do they make there?
Mai: They make beautiful pottery. My family has some vases from there. They are handmade by very skilled artisans.
Alex: That sounds interesting! Can you just look around, or are there activities?
Mai: You can walk around the village, of course. But the best part is that you can actually learn to make a pot yourself. They have workshops where an artisan shows you what to do.
Alex: No way, that’s so cool! Is it far?
Mai: Not really. It takes about... let me think... maybe 30 minutes if there's a lot of traffic. But on a normal day, it's quicker. Usually just 20 minutes.
Alex: Okay. And how should I get there? Should I take a taxi?
Mai: You could, but it would be expensive. My dad usually takes me by motorbike. For you, I think the easiest way is to take the bus. Bus number 47 goes directly there.
Alex: The bus, got it. That's really helpful. Is there anything special I should bring with me?
Mai: Hmm. You don’t need to bring snacks because they sell a lot of great food there. But you must bring a camera. The village is very old and beautiful, you'll want to take lots of pictures.
Alex: A camera. Perfect. Thanks so much for the advice, Mai!
Mai: No problem, have a great time!
Part 2
Linh: Good morning, everyone. For my presentation today, I’m going to talk about my local community. I live in a suburb just outside the city centre. It’s not a famous place with tourist attractions, but it’s a wonderful place to live.
The thing I love most is how convenient it is. We have almost everything we need: a market with fresh food, a small supermarket, a clinic, and lots of small shops. You rarely need to travel to the city centre. This means we have great facilities.
Another great thing is the people. Everyone seems to know each other, and the community helpers are fantastic. The garbage collectors and the delivery people are so hard-working. We always say hello to them, and I think we all really appreciate their work. Because of them, our streets are always very clean.
However, it’s not perfect. There’s one thing that I think our community is missing. Although we have a lovely park where families with young children can play, there’s really nothing for teenagers to do. There’s no space for us to just hang out, play sports, or listen to music. The park is great, but it’s designed for a different age group.
So, my suggestion for improvement would be to find out how we can create a new space for people my age. It doesn’t have to be a big building. Maybe it could be a dedicated area in the park with some benches and a place to play basketball.
In conclusion, my community is a friendly and convenient place with many positive aspects, but I believe that creating more activities for young people would make it even better. Thank you for listening.
