PART 1
Daniel: Hi Chloe! How's it going? You look busy.
Chloe: Hi Daniel! I am. I’m just trying to finish this knitting kit my aunt gave me.
Daniel: Oh, cool! What are you making?
Chloe: I'm knitting a scarf for my brother. His birthday is next month.
Daniel: He’ll love that. I’m not very patient, so I’m not keen on knitting. I prefer doing DIY projects.
Chloe: Really? Like what?
Daniel: I built a small dollhouse for my cousin last summer. It’s a good way to de-stress, you know? It helps me focus.
Chloe: That's amazing. I don't do DIY, but I love outdoor activities. My parents are really keen on cycling. We usually go together on Sundays. It’s a great way to connect.
Daniel: That sounds fun. I mostly stay in and watch films. Watching them at home is okay, but I prefer the big screen and sound at the cinema.
Chloe: Me too! Hey, do you fancy going to see that new film everyone is talking about?
Daniel: I'd love to! How about Saturday evening?
Chloe: Oh, I can’t on Saturday, I have to visit my grandparents. But I’m free on Sunday.
Daniel: Sunday works for me. Let's do that then!
PART 2
Tom: Hey Sophie, you seem a bit down. Is everything alright?
Sophie: Hi Tom. I’m just under a lot of pressure at the moment.
Tom: Are you worried about the midterm exams?
Sophie: No, I'm prepared for those. And it's not about my friends either. It's this school project on 'Life in the Countryside'.
Tom: Oh, I see. What’s the problem? Is the topic boring?
Sophie: The topic is actually quite interesting, and I've found lots of information. The issue is that I dislike working in such a big group. It’s hard to connect, and no one can agree on anything.
Tom: I understand. Group work can be stressful. You need to find a way to relax.
Sophie: I know. What do you do when you feel stressed?
Tom: Well, my sister plays video games for hours, but that's not for me. For me, I prefer going to the countryside with my family for a weekend. Life moves more slowly there. It’s so peaceful.
Sophie: That sounds nice. What do you like most about it?
Tom: The vast paddy fields are picturesque, for sure. But the best thing is the people. They are so hospitable. Everyone welcomes you with a smile.
Sophie: I wish I could do that. I need to solve this project problem first. Maybe I'll talk to my group members again.
Tom: You could. Or you could talk to your teacher?
Sophie: You know what, that's a better idea. I think I'll talk to my teacher. She might have some good advice on how to manage the teamwork. Thanks, Tom!
