Part 1: Dialogue (Jack and Sophie)
Jack: Hi Sophie. Are you ready for the history presentation?
Sophie: Honestly, Jack, I'm a bit stressed. I thought we were presenting on Friday, but the teacher moved it to Thursday. That means I only have two days left!
Jack: Yeah, Thursday is coming up fast. Who are you writing about?
Sophie: Well, I spent two days researching Isaac Newton. But then I found his life a bit too complex for a 5-minute talk. So, I switched to William Shakespeare. Everyone knows him.
Jack: Good choice. Did you find everything on Google?
Sophie: I usually do, but my home internet has been down since yesterday. So, I had to go to the library and use books. It actually took much longer.
Jack: That sounds annoying.
Sophie: It was. I’m exhausted. I wish I had started earlier instead of playing video games all weekend. Now I have to rush.
Jack: Don't worry, you’ll be fine. Just make sure you follow the guidelines. You know Mr. Roberts.
Sophie: I know. He never laughs and checks every detail. He’s so strict.
Part 2: Monologue (Guide - Mr. Evans)
Mr. Evans: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Old Clock Tower...
If you look at the plaque on the wall, it says "Established 1900". However, that refers to when the clock was installed. The tower itself is older; it was actually built in 1895.
Another interesting fact is its original purpose... For the first five years, this building served as the town's fire station.
Now, look up at the clock face... However, we have a silent problem. The massive bell inside, which used to ring every hour, is cracked.
I really wish the town had the funds —you know, the money—to fix it.
Finally, the top of the tower has beautiful stone carvings... If you want to appreciate the details, I suggest you bring binoculars. Your phone camera won't be able to zoom in enough.
