Part 1
Mr. Davis: Hello, come in. You must be Olivia.
Olivia: Yes, that's right. Hello, Mr. Davis.
Mr. Davis: Please, have a seat. I just need to get a few details for my notes. Your first name is Olivia... What's your family name?
Olivia: It's Marshall. That's M-A-R-S-H-A-L-L.
Mr. Davis: Marshall. Got it. So, Olivia, what did you want to talk about today?
Olivia: Well, I've been feeling overwhelmed with all my schoolwork. It's causing me a lot of anxiety, especially at night. I can't sleep because I'm worrying.
Mr. Davis: I see. Anxiety from school pressure is very common. And what do you do when you take a break from studying?
Olivia: That's part of the problem. My "breaks" turn into hours spent on social media. I know it's a distraction, but it's hard to stop.
Mr. Davis: It is. It's designed to be that way. Let's talk about some strategies. One thing that really helps is physical health. Do you get much exercise? Maybe 15 minutes a day?
Olivia: Not really, maybe 15 minutes on a good day.
Mr. Davis: Okay. I would strongly advise you to try and get at least 30 minutes every day. A short walk, a bike ride... it will make a huge difference to your stress levels.
Olivia: I can try that.
Mr. Davis: Great. Let's meet again next week to see how you're getting on. I'm busy on Monday, but I'm free on Wednesday afternoon. How does that sound?
Olivia: Wednesday is great. Thank you.
Part 2
Maria: Hey Jacob. You look a bit stressed out. Is it that history report?
Jacob: You know it. The due date is next Friday, and I haven't even started. I know the topic is interesting, but every time I think about starting it, I just delay and do something else.
Maria: Ah, the classic delay tactic. I used to do that all the time.
Jacob: So how did you stop? What do you do now when you have a lot of work?
Maria: Well, the first thing I do is make a plan. On Sunday night, I look at the whole week ahead and schedule everything. Schoolwork, hobbies, even breaks.
Jacob: A plan, huh? And what about when you have multiple things to do? How do you decide?
Maria: That's the most important part. You have to set priorities. Don't just do the easy stuff first. Ask yourself, "What's the most important thing I need to accomplish today?" and do that.
Jacob: I guess that makes sense. I just hate the feeling of the deadline getting closer and closer.
Maria: Exactly! That's why you should try to finish things before the due date. It really helps reduce the stress. You feel so much better when it's done.
Jacob: It's just hard to imagine having time for my guitar and my homework.
Maria: It's possible! If you plan your week properly, you can find time for everything. It's all about having a well-balanced life, not giving things up.
Jacob: Okay, okay, I'm convinced. I'll try making a schedule tonight. Thanks, Maria.
