PART 1
Alex: Hi everyone, it's Alex. A few people have asked me about my family's move to the countryside. Some people think we just moved a few months ago, but it's actually been a whole year now. It’s been a big change.
At first, I was worried I'd lose touch with my old friends from the city. I thought it would be difficult because we couldn't hang out anymore. But with social media, it's easy to connect and message them. We chat almost every day.
My leisure time is completely different now. I used to spend all my time indoors, surfing the net or playing video games. I thought outdoor work was boring. Now, I prefer helping my dad in the garden or herding the cattle. It’s hard work, but it feels more rewarding, and it helps me stay focused.
The environment is amazing, too. The scenery here is so picturesque, with vast green fields stretching for miles. And the people are very hospitable. It's a completely different atmosphere.
Of course, the city has its conveniences, and sometimes I miss the fast pace. But I wouldn't trade the peaceful life here for anything. I feel much less pressure here, and I've learned so many practical new skills. It was definitely the right choice for my family.
PART 2
Ben: Hey Maya, you look a bit stressed. Everything okay?
Maya: Hi Ben. I’m okay, I guess.
Ben: Is it the midterm exam? I know there’s a lot of pressure.
Maya: No, it’s not that.
Ben: Or... did you have a fight with your friends?
Maya: No, we're all good. The problem is I'm just trying to decide which school club to join. There are so many options, and I can't choose!
Ben: Ah, I see. What have you thought about?
Maya: Well, I considered the arts and crafts club. It looks fun, but I'm not very creative. I’m not sure I would be any good at it.
Ben: I understand. How about the language club? I heard it’s really good this year.
Maya: The language club? What are the benefits?
Ben: It's not just about learning new words. It might help if you travel one day, that's true, but the main thing is that it really improves your communication skills. You do a lot of speaking and presenting.
Maya: Hmm, that does sound useful. I need to get better at that.
Ben: Exactly. You should think about it.
Maya: You've convinced me. It sounds great. Could you give me the club leader's name and email, please? I’d like to ask them a few more questions.
Ben: Sure, I have it right here.
Maya: By the way, are you in the language club?
Ben: No, actually, I'm not in any clubs this year. I was in the sports club last year, but I need more time to focus on my schoolwork now.
Maya: Oh, okay. Well, thanks for the help, Ben!
