GRACE'S FOREST TRIP

Grace went on a school trip to Blackwood Forest. She found the hiking tiring at first because she felt she lacked (1) in her fitness. The most exciting part was seeing some wild (2) playing in the trees. However, the experience became unpleasant when the animals came down and stole her (3) . She also had a difficult night because she forgot to pack her (4) , so she couldn't sleep well. Despite these small accidents, Grace thinks the trip was (5) .

PART 1: Dialogue (Liam and Emma)

Emma: Hi Liam. Did you go to the open day at the City University yesterday?
Liam: Hi Emma. Yes, I did. It was a long day but quite useful.
Emma: Did you go alone?
Liam: I planned to, but my brother wanted to see the engineering department, so he came with me.
Emma: That’s nice. What was the campus like?
Liam: It’s huge! We spent hours touring the campus. We saw the library, which is full of books, but honestly, I found it a bit boring. The best part for me was the sports centre. It has a massive swimming pool.
Emma: Cool. How was the weather?
Liam: Oh, it was terrible. It started raining at noon and didn't stop. It was really unpleasant walking between buildings in the rain.
Emma: Oh no. Did you get back late?
Liam: Very late. We ran to the station, but we missed the bus by one minute! We had to wait an hour for the next one.
Emma: That sounds exhausting.
Liam: It was. What about you? Have you been there?
Emma: Not yet. I plan to visit it next month.

PART 2: Monologue (Grace)

Grace: Hello. I’d like to share my experience of our class trip to Blackwood Forest last week. It was definitely an adventure! We started with a long hike. To be honest, I was a bit worried because I don’t do much exercise, so I lacked confidence. I thought I couldn't finish the walk, but my friends helped me, and I did it. We saw a lot of flora and fauna. The highlight was definitely the monkeys. We saw a group of them swinging in the tall trees. It was brilliant. However, things got a bit unpleasant at lunchtime. We sat down to eat, and suddenly, two monkeys ran down and grabbed my lunch bag! They took my sandwiches and ran away. I was so shocked! Another bad experience happened at night. When we were putting up tents, I realized I had left my pillow at home. I had to sleep with my head on my backpack, which was very uncomfortable. But looking back, even with the stolen food and the hard bed, it was a memorable trip. I have a great story to tell now!
