Part 1: Dialogue (Eric & Lily)
Eric: Hi Lily. That was a long day, wasn't it? I’m exhausted.
Lily: Me too, Eric. But I’m glad we finally went.
Eric: Yeah. It’s a shame the school bus had engine trouble this morning.
Lily: I know! We waited for an hour. But luckily, the school hired a private coach for us. It was actually much more comfortable than the bus.
Eric: True. So, what did you think of the Nature Reserve?
Lily: The scenery was amazing. I loved seeing the waterfall.
Eric: What about the history lecture?
Lily: Ugh, that was the worst part. The guide spoke for 45 minutes! I found his talk so dull. I almost fell asleep.
Eric: (Laughs) I saw you yawning! By the way, did you find your phone?
Lily: Oh, yes. It was just at the bottom of my bag. But... I was unlucky with my sunglasses. I leaned over to look at a fish and they dropped right into the water. Gone forever!
Eric: Oh no! That’s annoying.
Lily: At least you got a souvenir. Is that a new T-shirt?
Eric: No, I wanted the T-shirt, but it cost $20! Too expensive. I just bought this cap instead. It was only $5.
Lily: It looks cool. Anyway, I need to go home. My parents expected me back at 5:00 p.m.
Eric: Yeah, we are very late because of the traffic jam. It’s already 7:00 p.m.! See you tomorrow.
Part 2: Monologue (Daniel)
Hi everyone. For my project on "Our Experiences", I want to tell you about my trip to the Blue Mountain last week. My parents booked an eco-tour for the whole family. It was very different from a normal holiday because we stayed in a bamboo hut, not a hotel.
The environment there was fantastic. I took many photos of the flora. I have never seen such colorful orchids and giant ferns before. The air was so fresh.
However, I made a mistake packing my bag. I checked the forecast and it said "sunny", so I didn't pack my raincoat. Suddenly, on the second day, there was a storm. We were hiking and I got completely soaked. It was quite unpleasant.
Also, there was one thrilling moment. At night, I woke up and saw a huge spider crawling on my sleeping bag. I screamed so loud that I woke up the whole camp! It was terrifying at the time, but funny now.
Overall, despite the rain and the spider, I think the trip was brilliant. I learned how to respect nature and live without the internet.
