TAPESCRIPTS
Part 1: Dialogue
Alice: Hi Tom. That school trip was quite an adventure, wasn't it? My legs are still tired from all the walking.
Tom: Mine too, Alice. But I’m glad we didn't go on Saturday. Did you see the weather forecast? It rained all day!
Alice: I know. We were so lucky to have sunshine on Sunday. The views were amazing.
Tom: Absolutely. The whole complex is huge. What did you like the most?
Alice: I think the main temple. The architecture was magnificent. I’ve never seen such deep-rooted culture in one place.
Tom: I agreed. I really wanted to climb the ancient tower to see the view from the top, but the guide said we couldn't.
Alice: Yeah, I heard him say it is currently occupied by a rare species of bats, so they closed it to protect them.
Tom: That’s a pity. I was going to take a photo of the view.
Alice: Did you take any photos?
Tom: I tried! I pulled my phone out, but the battery died immediately. I wish I had charged it the night before.
Alice: Oh, typical Tom. By the way, what did you think of the guide? He was very knowledgeable.
Tom: He was, but he walked so fast and talked even faster! I missed half the information. I wish he had spoken slower.
Part 2: Announcement
Mrs. Robinson: Good morning, class. Please settle down. I have an important announcement regarding our "History Day" next week... The event will take place next Monday. Originally, we planned to start at 8:30, but the guest speaker is coming from another city by train, so we will start a bit later, at 9:30...
Regarding the venue... We will gather in the gym instead.
For the morning session... we have invited a local historian, Mr. Baxter.
He was going to talk about ancient food recipes... So, he changed the topic. He will talk about traditional games that children used to play 100 years ago.
Finally... please bring a notebook to write down his questions and tips.
