TAPESCRIPTS
Part 1
Ms. Evans: Hi Mark, how can I help you today?
Mark: Hello, Ms. Evans. I'd like to join a club, but I'm not sure which one. I want something practical.
Ms. Evans: Well, we have a new Digital Skills Club. It's very popular. It helps students with many things, but the main goal is to improve their communication skills for the online world.
Mark: That sounds good. What kind of things do you do? Do you just browse websites on a forum?
Ms. Evans: No, it's much more creative than that. For example, last month, the students worked in pairs to create a short podcast about their hobbies.
Mark: A podcast? That's cool! So, when does the club meet?
Ms. Evans: Let me check the schedule. Last year, the club meeting was on Mondays. But we changed it this year. Now, the meeting is every Wednesday after school.
Mark: Okay, Wednesday. And where is it?
Ms. Evans: It's in the new computer lab on the fourth floor. That's room 405. Please don't go to room 402, that's the old lab and it's used for storage now.
Mark: Got it. And if I have more questions, who can I contact?
Ms. Evans: You can send a message to our general email address. It's easy to remember. It's help@school.com.
Mark: Great! Thank you so much, Ms. Evans.
Part 2
Counselor: Good morning, students. Today I want to give you some simple advice for dealing with stress.
I know many of you feel a lot of pressure from your schoolwork, especially when you have midterm exams. This pressure can feel very heavy, but it is normal.
Another big problem for teenagers is what happens on social media. I am talking about online bullying. Mean comments on your posts or pictures can make you feel very sad and stressed. Please remember this is not your fault.
So what can you do? The most important thing is to talk to people. It's important to connect with your family and friends. Don't keep your worries to yourself. Sharing a problem is the first step to solving it.
Another great idea is to do something fun that is not on a screen. Joining a school club is a perfect way to do this. You can join the sports club, or the arts and crafts club. It helps you relax and meet people.
Finally, when it is time to study, you must learn to concentrate. It is difficult when you get so many notifications. When you study, put your phone away and try to be focused. You will finish your work much faster. Thank you for listening.
